Impressive Life is what Valentas Bartkevicius builds in Spain, and the way he tries to live while building it. He grew up in Soviet Lithuania, was running a crew at 19, tiled and managed building sites in London, and has lived in Spain since 2019, based in Pilar de la Horadada on the Costa Blanca.
The idea is simple and slightly unfashionable. Build useful things slowly. Say plainly what is ready and what isn’t. Read more than you scroll. Get the family off the sunbed now and then. And take the evenings seriously, because Spain does.

Spain has been arguing with windmills since Don Quixote. We just take the old ones down properly.
Used solar panels collected free, from parks and large installations. Wind turbines decommissioned turnkey, in Spain and France. And waterless greenhouses for the dry south: a direction we’re exploring, not a service yet.
